New Flashback Collection by DJ Chris Holmes

FLASHBACK! Our New Fashion Project With DJ Chris Holmes Turns iPhone Images Into Thermonuclear Photobombs

Flashback Collection

Chris Holmes once had a problem — sort of.

While on tour with Sir Paul McCartney, he noticed that photos of his performances were getting ruined in a weirdly wonderful way: Camera flashes would bounce off his reflective clothing and obliterate most everything else in the image. Pretty frustrating for an entertainer.

Then he thought, Maybe this isn’t such a bad thing after all.

Why not design a new line of clothing that could foil paparazzi — Chris has acquaintances who’d appreciate this — and create insanely cool spectral photos?

That’s how the Flashback Collection was born. Made from fabric coated with gazillions of super-reflective glass nanospheres, these garments turn whoever wears them into the ultimate photobomber.

CELEBRITY DISCLAIMER: Despite their original purpose, when you put on a Photobomber Hoodie, Illuminati Suit, Silver-Screen Scarf, or Halo Hat, people can’t help but take your picture.

More Prototypes You Can Help Bring To Life

Haeckeloha Dress
Haeckeloha Dress: Like our original men’s Hawaiian-style Haeckeloha Shirt (now in three colors), Catie Magee’s new dress is awash in colorful, cavorting wee beasties, based on illustrations from Ernst Haeckel’s book “Kunstformen der Natur.”
Space Booties
Space Booties: Lot of folks told us they liked the overall design of these thermal slippers, but not the patch. So, Steven B. Wheeler updated his prototype with a redesigned logo patch on the side, plus new red piping. Behold: Space Rebooties!
Ferrofluid Disco Leggings
Ferrofluid Disco Leggings: While they’re not fashioned from actual ferromagnetic fluid (too messy), Olivia Lopez’s new leggings possess an equally strong magnetic attraction, albeit of a different sort.
360 Reversible Dress
360 Reversible Dress: Four dresses in one! Whatever the occasion, Elizabeth Irwin’s new creation has you covered. Go with solid black or a geometric print, then choose a high-boat or low-scoop neckline; all you need to do is flip this dress front to back or turn it inside out!
Morning-Mess Jacket
Morning-Mess Jacket: From Nicole Spyt comes a jacket designed to keep all your daily essentials safe, secure, and eminently find-able, no matter how much of a rush you’re in. Features soft cotton-brushed twill, pockets galore, and other goodies.

One the one side this is a great idea.
But on the other it will cause problems to professional photographers (I assume this is also working with normal flashes, right?).
I wonder how popular this will become in the future.

But nothing stops you from taking the picture without flash – also consider that hight ISO performance is becoming better and better…
