Tell us about yourself. Who are you? What about your career are you most proud of so far?

My name is Sarah Haskins. I am a comedy writer and performer. I guess I’m proud of earning a living at a very silly job, but in terms of emotions I feel more often than pride: I feel very lucky and happy that I’ve gotten to work with smart and funny people on projects that are also smart and funny.

What was your experience wearing Betabrand? How does your profession echo our brand’s mantras of crowdsourcing ideas & beta testing their potential?

I quite enjoyed wearing Betabrand. In fact, I am now quitting comedy to become a professional model for Betabrand. I know this is short notice for you, people at Betabrand, but heads up. Get me some more outfits, stat. Writing comedy is a lot like “crowdsourcing” and “beta testing” only we don’t have cool terms. We just use old-fashioned words like “collaboration” and “revision” because most of us are simple minded English majors who have to ask friendly neighborhood children to turn on our computers.

What advice would you give to anyone seeking to find their own path — career, or otherwise?

I think most people asking advice about their path know exactly what they want to do. They just might be scared about doing it and they hope “advice” will make them feel like it’s not a crazy decision. My advice: whatever you’re considering probably is a crazy decision or it wouldn’t make you nervous enough to ask. So, go ahead and start doing what you want to do now just in case you have to do something else later because your passion has put you in a shit ton of debt.

What are you passionate about outside of comedy? What do you do on your free time?

Passion: reading. Actual free time: children – playing with, reading to, cleaning up after, entertaining, forcing vegetables upon, etc

Tell us how you really feel about Rubber Chickens.

I like them!
