At Last, Dress Pant Yoga Pants!

Betabrand unveils office-appropriate stretch(ing) pants.

SAN FRANCISCO, January 6 — As a follow-up to the Web hit known as Dress Pant Sweatpants, online clothier Betabrand has fashioned an answer to a venerable workplace controversy: Should women wear yoga pants to the office?

That answer is yes, thanks to new Dress Pant Yoga Pants. As comfy as the finest yoga wear, thanks to 4-way stretch fabric, these trousers have also been souped up with faux pockets and a front button. The result is a chic pair of pants for work — or working out.

Launched two weeks ago on Betabrand’s fashion crowdfunding platform, Dress Pant Yoga Pants rocketed past their funding goal in only 48 hours. Now the company is racing to bring them to market by mid-February.

Says Betabrand founder Chris Lindland: “We thought we might have a hit, because an inordinate number of customers voted for this concept and provided feedback when we unveiled a prototype in November.”

“Betabrand releases new prototypes every day,” Lindland says, “but this is a record response; we’ve already exceeded 250% of our crowdfunding goal with two weeks left. As with our popular Dress Pant Sweatpants, this response tells us that modern office dwellers want work clothes that connect with their athletic lifestyles.”

Dress Pant Yoga Pants are on sale for $79. They’re made in San Francisco and available only at Betabrand.com.
