Bike Shop Collaboration #1
Bike pants make for silly work pants, and vice versa. So we created handsome hybrid Bike to Work Pants to perform equally well on the road or in the office.
Recently, we began working on a super-limited-edition series inspired by independent, community-minded bike shops around the country. First up: Minneapolis-based Varsity Bike & Transit.
The folks at Varsity aren't such huge fans of the internal combustion engine. So their signature Bike to Work Pants feature a rear patch with the bike shop's "Pedal Less Oil" slogan, complete with images of gooey, dripping crude. And just in case that message was too subtle, they asked us to add a black, oil-slick liner.
Like all our Bike to Work Pants, Varsity Pants sport a secret inner brilliance: cuffs that roll up to reveal super-bright reflective material, plus an equally blinding pullout that deploys from a rear pocket. The result: radical reflectivity that lets motorists and pedestrians know you mean business.
We also added cyclist-friendly features like a reinforced crotch, raised back cut for crack coverage, and a slight stretchiness in the fabric. The result: A two-wheeled commute that's safe and comfy, not to mention pretty darn stylish. (Roll over the Design Specs button for more product details.)
